This week I used pre-poured agar to to plate my bacteria. I streaked each bacteria for isolation and did another lawn streak. I ended up using Pseudomonas putida, Staphylococcus epedermidis, and Escherichia coli. I did not originally chose P. putida or S. epedermidis, however they are the same species as P. aeruginosa and S. aureus. This means they have similar characteristics and should behave the same way when attempting to form a biofilm. I followed the procedure for streaking and I think I did well isolating the bacteria. P. putida was stored at 25 degrees Celsius. S. eperdermidis and E. coli were stored at 37 degrees Celsius. Once all of the plates show significant growth I will continue in my procedures.
